Keyboard number keys not working!
My living room PC is using a backlit Xenta keyboard (USB) and the top row of number keys (not numpad) have stopped working apart from numbers 5 & 6! Does anyone know what could be causing this? It seems other people online have the same issue with different keyboards (only number 5 & 6 keys working along the top).
Any ideas?
Re: Keyboard number keys not working!
Could be the keyboard going faulty or the driver corrupted. Another cause is trapped dust or dirt preventing the key contacting the circuit. Have you plug it into another USB port to ensure it not the USB port?
Does it show anything warning or error for your USB keyboard in device management?
Look for dust trapped either in the keyboard or the USB ports and give a blow then try the keyboard again.
Re: Keyboard number keys not working!
It's not a driver issue as other keyboards work fine with the same PC using the generic Windows 7 driver (and no errors show up in device manager). The faulty keyboard is still not functioning correctly with my other PC either. I find it strange how only numbers 5 & 6 work and all the other number keys don't work. The numpad still works fine though.

Bit late to the party here, but unfortunately it does sound like the keyboard may have developed an issue, especially if it has shown the same problem in two setups. Sorry :-/

I've already bought a new one... I'll open up the old one and take a look when i can be bothered (might just be a loose connection inside).
