New PC not displaying anything
Hi Everyone,
This is probably a common issue, but I have just finished building my very first PC, and everything was going wonderfully. all of the fans inside my rig were running, including the graphics card fans, all the LEDs were on, the optical drive was working and I hadn't received any ominous beeps from my motherboard, but my monitor displayed nothing, simply 'no input detected'. I tried the monitor with another pc that I knew worked and it worked beautifully. I did a full reboot and nothing changed. I am sure the video cables are plugged in correctly, although the lack of an HDMI cable with my monitor meant that I had to plug the VGA cable into the motherboard, not my graphics card. however, I can't see this being the issue.
I don't think static is to blame either, because I had an AS band on and remembered to touch the metal case as often as possible.
My specs are:
CPU: Core i5 3570
MoBo: AsRock z77 Pro4-M
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 660OC
RAM: Corsair XMS3 8GB
The only thing I can think of that may be causing this error is that, while I was building the rig a pin in one of the 4-pin molex connectors bent, however I got it back into place and it seems to still be working.
I would Greatly appreciate any advice that you guys have on potential causes of this issue, because I am suffering from some minor palpitations right about now. :wallbash:

I suspect that's exactly the issue. If your computer is set to output video from the graphics card then plugging the monitor into the motherboard will result in no signal being sent to the monitor.
You could try removing the graphics card and hoping that the bios will detect this and output to the motherboard display chip instead.

Try taking the GPU out and plugging the HDMI directly into the motherboard.
When I was building my PC the stock GPU drivers only supported DVI and not HDMI, either get a DVI cable and plug it into your GPU while you instal the latest drivers and then revert back to HDMI or just go HDMI > mobo.

This. Most modern motherboards are set to use if present a graphics card. As the OP has one plugged in that's what will display.
What can you plug into your monitor? Doubt it is HDMI, will be display port on the graphics card, that or DVI.
