    Floppy drive troubles!

I’m having trouble with my K7S5A ECS motherboard and a floppy disk drive. I have tried two different drives that I know work and two different cables, I just can’t seem to get the floppy drive working in windows xp.

Windows sees the drive, but when I stick a floppy in it just asks me to ‘insert a disk’ the bios see it, but no lights and no joy!!

    Any ideas?

Suppose you have done the obvious and checked that the cable is the right way round i.e. both M/board/drive, if not that then I am no wiser than you

ps: is the power cable is supplying power?
