Comp Hanging On Boot Up
HI ALL
seem to have developed a problem with start up i have my comp password protected and am using xp
normally i will boot up and get the nice lady saying everything is ok on my asus a7n8x e deluxe mobo then it shows the xp screen then after a few seconds it brings up password screen .
then i enter password and it boots up very quick
but now all of a sudden when i do this between the windows xp screen and my password log in screen i get what i can only describe as a hang of about a minute with just a blank screen then it brings up password screen
i have ran the following
adaware
virus scan
registry scan
cleaned all cookies and files aswell with sure clean
and it is still doing it
WHAT AM I MISSING OR WHAT HAS HAPPENED

Tried Defrag?
If worst comes to worst, you could reformat your hard drive - it speeds up your computer, so it's worth doing every so often anyway.

yes done a complete defrag so not sure

It could well possibly be your graphics drivers, as during this time it is when they are intialised. Is it since you installed new drivers this occurs? Uninstall and reinstall them, using Driver Cleaner if necessary.
