I built this computer for this chap, I tested the pc and everything worked fine.
Here is the spec (everything is run at stock speed)
NF7 – S mobo
512 crucial DDR 400 ram
Coolermaster centurion
Tagan 380W Low noise Power Supply
AMD AthlonXP 3000
Thermaltake Volcano 12 heatsink
One case fan
RAD 9800
After he had it for a few hours again no overclock he said the temps are,…. Idle @ 45° then after 15min 55° - then gaming sends it overboard! And turns it off. I think 65° was the bios limit and that is with the fan full on hair dryer style.
I reseated the heatsink and attempted to boot the lights come on, all the fans spin, the hard drive fires up but no “beep” from the bios and no post! I cleared the cosmos and checked all leads and cables, I have had to leave it for now but I really need some advice! The monitor light also failed to boot, so possible a dead gcard? But I guess it would not come up if the pc is not booting (the fan works on the gcard if that mean anything)
What component failing would cause the system not to post? Would the cpu do this? And could the cpu have been faulty hence the overheat?
Please can you help this guy has already paid me for the computer and I feel real bad and very stressed !!!
EDIT NEW OPENING POST!
