I think it may be new mobo time. Out of curiosity, how do you bend the pins?

presumably a) put it in wrong mobo socket b)put it in right socket but wrong way round c) go at it with too much gusto when putting it in the right mobo d) outright stupidity/carelessness e) unforseen circumstance (power cut/alien abduction/heart attack at the vital moment)

You must have dropped it from a great height!

If you have a magnifying glass you might be able to straighten the pins using a wooden cocktail stick (or other non-conducting/non static implement). However, they are not very ductile and may snap if you apply too much force or off they are bent over too far.

I've heard that a credit card slid along the rows of pins can straighten them - if there aren't TOO bent.

Failing that, sell it on ebay - bent-pin boards still fetch decent money.

I've no experience with mobo pins, but have successfully straightened cpu pins after escapades with too heavy coolers and weak zif levers before using basically anything thin and pointy.

Some mobo companies will repair for a fee, may be worth contacting for a quote.

I was wondering if i could heat them up a bit to try and prevent any snapping off?

    thanx for reply
