Completed new computer, but getting an error beep.

Ok well the computer I just built for my Realator is finished, but when I turn the computer on, the monitor doesnt flicker or turn on and all the computer does is make Long single beeps. For Example. Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.... Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.... I read up on that and I guess it says its some "memory problem"? and all I have to really do was change the memory to a different slot. Well I did that, and then took memory out of both my working computers to see if that changed anything but it still made the same beep! Whats going on?!! :rant:

could be a faultl dimm slot on the board....but yeah some system info would help :)

definatley memory fault, continous beeping after 1 second pause might be a compatibility issue or just a faulty stick of ram

I would go with the others but had similar beeps before and it turned out to be the graphics card not seated correctly.

What is the system spec?

A quick series of beeps followed by a pause is normally a graphics card issue. I would say RAM also, either a faulty module or socket.

Sorry about the system specs, she just gave me the supplies and they are so generic thers no product name or anything :( I tryed putting 2 different types of memory into the slots but still same thing.

Well I just noticed there is a BIG scratch on the mobo between the cpu and the memory slots. Would this cause anything?

Well yes, if it's a scratch you can surely ascertain whether it has caused any damage to the PCB, solder or anything? Take it back and point it out or RMA it or whatever.
