shutdown cpu?
quick question 4 u all.
when a cpu overheats and shuts down. does the computer just shutdown as in turns off instantly or does it actually go through the process of shutting down windows ?
i;m guessing just shuts down but what if it has a set level in the bios
e.g if u cpu gets to 70 then please shut down
what would it do then?

The last time i used the overheating option in bios was with old overclocked Celeron system, then all the PC done to instant off.Hope that helps.
Perhaps the more modern bios's allow for some call to the OS but it would be hard to implement without having some from of MoBo monitoring software installed and running on the OS.
