HTPC Video Codecs W7 x64 (live TV)

I am just after some advice really.

I am running a HTPC, with a 3870k inside, now it has the dreaded HD stutter problem to which no driver o setting can fix it.

Now I have been using LAV and the stuttering is fixed but fast forward/backwards are broke (skip still works).

Is there any other codecs to try or certain settings in LAV to use?

I am happy to try anything, its not strictly broken in its current state but I would prefer it fulling working.

Have you tried using the Shark007 codecs, I've had a really good experience with them.
