Computer is not detecting my TV

Just got a new 48 inch LG HDTV and tried to connect it into my computer with a HDMI cable. The problem is my tv seems to detect my computer but my computer is not detecting my tv. I have tried connecting the HDMI cable to both ports on the my tv with the same results. My computer is a Sony VAIO L series All-In-One. Any and all suggestions would be helpful. Thank you for your time.

Hi Pedro, welcome to HEXUS Your post will get more views and hopefully some suggestions if you re-post in this area of the forum: http://forums.hexus.net/consumer-electronics/ (because anyone with knowledge of a particular type of topic tends to hang around the technical forums rather than here in the 'say hello' thread).

Sorry can't be more help. Welcome anyway & hope you enjoy being a member.

Hey Pedro. Usually you need to press a couple of keys to tell your laptop to display on the TV or TV and laptop etc. On my laptop I need to press Fn + F4. There are usually symbols that give you a hint but its usually trial and error as exactly the combo to press depends on the laptop but it's usually just Fn + and F key. Best of luck.
