Loud POP but everything seems OK?!?!

I've just had a loud pop after bringing my machine home from a LAN and plugging it in.

I unplugged it immediately but I couldn't see or smell anything, I plugged it back in and started the machine up, it's absolutely fine, I've run a game or two, sound is OK graphics are OK...

Should I be concerned? A quick Google suggests it may just be a capacitor but even if it is the only way to find out would be a full dismantle of my PC.

Can I just plod on until it stops working or catches fire? (I don't want it to catch fire ofc).

    TIA!!!

You could use a torch and check around the capacitors see if any are split or oozing, unless of course its in the PSU, did the pop definitely come from the machine and not through your speakers?

I have a creative xtreme gamer and the damn thing pops when it wants for some reason.

Definitely no burning smell, I've got a pretty good nose for stuff like that. I didn't come through any speakers, I'm confident it came from the computer.

I'm running it fine now, it's been on for an hour or so since. I'll give it a good tear down next week and have a look.

Was it when you plugged the kettle lead in? Sometimes if they spark it can be quite a loudish pop. Especially if there is a bit of dust.
