Sometimes my mouse is glitchy upon reboot but not all the time.
Sometimes when I boot up my mouse (Corsair M30) well be ok if I move really slowly but if I move at normal speed it tends to jump around erratically. Then when I unplug it and plug it back in it goes fine. I have never figured out if there is some issue with the mouse causing that or something to do with perhaps the USB port or something? Very strange. Any insight would be appreciated.

Is there any fluff in the hole underneath?
does the mouse have companion software/drivers? My logitech has extra software to enable sideways-scrolling, so might be worth an uninstall/reinstall to see if it makes a difference.
Is it plugged in to a USB port on your motherboard, or on an extension card?
If you have another USB mouse you can plug in to the same port, you can narrow it down a bit more if it shows the same behaviour.

I have tried witrh and without drivers, checked for fluf and tried different ports. I just have never seen this problem before. I did get a new motherboard a few months ago, so either this mouse is just bad or something with the motherboard. Although I highly doubt its the MB.

Definitely sounding like the mouse, I'd be looking at testing an alternative - think I grabbed one from Asda for about £3 for a similar purpose.
Re: Sometimes my mouse is glitchy upon reboot but not all the time.
I've always had that , also within games and it only does that with USB mouse , i had it on my old system and still have it on my new system.
It's very annoying , it doesnt happen all the time but yes regulary , it just jumps spontanuously to an edge of the screen , i have never been able to figure out why
And i use a cheap mouse , i don't realy think it matters what mouse i use , it will happen with any mouse that's connected to USB
Re: Sometimes my mouse is glitchy upon reboot but not all the time.
Is it always the same mouse or is it with any USB mouse you have? I have never noticed this issue with any other USB mouse I have ever had, but then again I have only had this motherboard with this mouse and no other mouse.
Re: Sometimes my mouse is glitchy upon reboot but not all the time.
Just wonder if it is power issue, check the window settings make sure you do not have power save on the USB ports or if you can plug in the mouse via a powered USB hub.
Re: Sometimes my mouse is glitchy upon reboot but not all the time.
But heres the thing, it happens only on a fresh boot up. Not after time.
Re: Sometimes my mouse is glitchy upon reboot but not all the time.
I had problems with my mouse on my new build, it was like turning it self off, I was happening to look at the CD that came with the mobo with drivers on and installed the Intel USB drivers and the problem went away.
Re: Sometimes my mouse is glitchy upon reboot but not all the time.
Hmm. Well I have tried with and without drivers and I still get the problem. This mouse is just probably a bad one.

Not the mouse drivers, the drivers for the motherboard USB have a quick look on the CD that came with it, or online support if no CD drive. Also make sure your graphic card drivers are up to date or if they are roll back to the last one.

Yeah everything is up to date from the sites. I never use the cd's hardware comes with.
