    Toshiba Laptop Boot Problem

    Hi,
Im having trouble with a Toshiba Satellite C855 laptop running Windows 8.

When it starts booting windows it hangs on the screen with the windows logo and the little spinning circle.
Ive found the only way I can get it to continue booting is to close the lid and reopen it.

Also, after finally booting up, the touchpad and keyboard no longer work. Ive had to plug in a USB set.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Edit:
Ive tried updating the drivers and the bios, still have the problem

    Re: Toshiba Laptop Boot Problem

Are the keyboard and touchpad detected by the device manager?

Never seen it happen before, but perhaps some ribbon cables or something are a bit loose, making windows have difficulty identifying them. With the lid closed, they probably get disabled or unplugged, which lets windows continue booting up.

Just a random guess though, have no idea.

    Re: Toshiba Laptop Boot Problem

Had a quick browse and two common themes on this issue are Boot Sectors and HDD connections.

If an error code pops up it might help you identify the issue, otherwise you might have to try a repair with a Windows disc or partition.
