Easiest way is to check your Bios and see if you can slowly change your multiplier. Some mother boards have dip switches that do the same thing and some come with overclocking software like several ASUS boards do. Again make your changes slow, don't go from a 3200 to a 3800 at 1 time. Start with 3205 and see how it runs. Chances are that if you had a lot of spyware on your system like your other posts that is what was slowing you down with everything running in the back ground. i am attaching a link that will help you out with out the overclocking. This is for Windows XP, a Google search would give you similar information on other operatoring systems.

Also there are several very good sites that will help you over clock, just remember to do this at your own risk.
