For around that price, you can get the 6600GT - the AGP version should readily available in the next month or so. The next step up would be a 6800, but that's around £200.

ATi have the 9800 Pro, but that tends to be slower than the 6600GT, especially in Doom 3. The 6600GT beats it in most cases, although the 9800 sometimes pulls ahead when the resolution and AA are turned up. They also have the X700, but that hasn't been released onto AGP yet, and the X800 series is probably out of your price range.

To put it simply, the graphics card for Doom 3 for £160 would be a nVidia 6600GT, or a 6800 if you can stretch that far.

The DabsValue 6800 comes in at £180.98 inc VAT but they don't have any in stock at the mo. That's an Inno3D card, and ought to be good, though you won't get much in the way of software in the bundle. The Lowestonweb version is in stock at £184.99, though, with some glowing reviews. That's £25 over your budget, though. Below that, a 6600GT looks like your best bet. Scan have THIS which looks like a good bet.

edit: I'm assuming you're after AGP, right?
