OK, I have an ageing Win7 machine which this morning decided not to boot. Unfortunately I didn't have time to have a proper look at it since I was due to come to work (and won't be able to look at it until later on). It appeared to post normally, then got to the Windows logo. At this point it BSOD'd, but didn't hold the blue screen up - it literally flashed the BSOD and then restarted. Once it restarted it went into System Recovery automatically and prompted me to either 'Use Recovery Tools'. However, annoyingly there isn't an operating system listed for me to run any repairs on.
That's about as far as I got before having to leave for work - anyone come across this, if so any ideas where's best to start so I don't have to spend all night swearing at the PC?
