Asus X99-Deluxe and fan speeds

Ok so hoping some of you have had experience with this motherboard / boards with Asus latest EFI, more specifically the inbuilt fan speed adjustment.

So I am looking to get the fans to run as silent as possible when idle and only spin up when needs be, so I have set the fans in the EFI to PWM mode as it let me drop the fan speeds lower than DC and set the following for all fans using the sliders and dots :

25 degrees = lowest setting

60 degrees = 40%

75 degrees = 100%

All fans are set to the same setting however only the CPU fans seem to follow this, the rest appear to be running at full tilt looking at the spec sheet for the fans (chassis fans are stock fans that came with my 750D which are AF140's, CPU fans are Akasa's cant remember the model)



Now when setting the speeds in the EFI I can get the fans silent but upon reboot they just spin up again regardless of the settings I select, going back into the EFI shows the settings are still as I have set them.

Any thoughts? the fans will go lower but upon reboot the board does not seem to let them do this.

CPU temps at idle are under 30 degrees (H110 cooling it) so there should be no reason for the fans to run at full tilt?

Fixed it in a fashion, CPU fans set to PWM and Chassis fans set to DC have lowered the speeds a bit and in line with what they should be at, shame when using DC setting it only allows me to drop the fans to 60% though :/

I would try and find a way to email Asus on this question, I think there would be a chance that they could fix this in a future update for the board.

Not being a hardware engineer though I can't tell you for sure, and there is the strongish possibility that if this was possible they would have done it already.

Still, if you email them with the request, it may help a few hundred or more future users if they fix this on a future system board revision.
