Network printer not responding to OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)

I'm trying to connect a Macbook Air to a Ricoh MP C4500 PLC5c that doesn't have a PostScript card. I've tried to use GhostScript instead but can't get it to work with 10.10, even installing GostScript 9.15.

Does anyone have any ideas? Please, I don't configure OSX very often and this is starting to hurt my head!!

Is there a driver on the Ricoh website?

As a Unix based system, OS x uses the CUPS printing system

If in doubt, try a HP PCL5 driver - they work with just about everything.

Thanks peterb, I have established a connection using CUPS!! For some reason it doesn't like to use the Ricoh driver so I had to use the generic PCL5 driver, so no colour and some formating is not perfect but at least I have a work around until I either get a PostScript card for the printer of I take a hammer to the Mac ;)
