    What hard drive?

Ok I need a new hard drive and I’m gonna go for 80gb it has to be IDE and also have the 8mb cache. I’m after silence and was wondering which is the best brand for ‘quietness’ as I have shuttle which runs pretty quite. Also which of the main brands is the smallest ? as the thinner the better for air flow and so on.

Any suggestions are welcome and any info on the Maxtor version 10? Apart from size are there any performance improvements on the Maxtor version 9?

I just use Seagates - never had one break, and reasonably quiet. They also get a 5 year warranty.
