    2nd SSD not recognised

    Hi.
Just put a 2nd ssd in my sons pc so he is now running:
    Win 7
1x SSD which had OP on
    1x Mechanical HD
    1x New SSD.

My computer and disk management do not see the new SSD, however device manager and bios does!
Tried a search but nothing really popping up to help solve, any ideas?
    Thanks.

try downloading the bootable secure erase tool if it has one and running that to re initialize it.

    Re: 2nd SSD not recognised

Trying it in another computer would be the next step, to ensure that the new SSD is not faulty.

    Re: 2nd SSD not recognised

Strange thought, you have got the power connected properly?

Some years ago I was trying to ensure my PC wouldnt try and boot a disk, so I disconnected the power cable, leaving the data connected. Both the BIOS and a Linux boot CD could still see and enumerate the disk because the electronics get enough power from the data cable.

    Re: 2nd SSD not recognised

Ctrl + R > cmd > Run as Admin > diskpart > list disk > do you see all 3 disks?

If yes, continue with: list disk > select disk (choose the new SSD, if by nothing else then size) > clean
