    Audio Confusion

I've got a Asus K8V Deluxe and a set of Logitech Z680s. When I bought my rig I opted against getting an additional sound card since my board features 6 channel output, and the card I was looking at featured DTS & Dolby Digital which would conflict (even if only in terms of money wasted) with the same system built into the speaker setup.

Anyway, I've been running off coaxial since I got it (winces at sharp intake of breath from audiophiles) and only recently realised that I've been running off Stereo X 2 rather than true surround, something Coaxial doesn't seem to support. We moved recently and I haven't been able to find either instruction manual so I'm coming to you guys for help. The Z680s offer Coaxial and Optical on the digital side, as well as 6 Channel Direct connections, but can only see the coaxial connection on the motherboard (as well as what looks to be a closed optical connection). I'd like to get the 6 channel direct connection working since I have the cables but would someone mind walking me through the options open to me....

    Cheers

It's alright...I was just being dense...

Found the instruction manual which pointed me towards the correct configuration of the dual purpose LineIn/LineOut/Microphone connections...

    Thanks for looking anyway.
