I would run memtest, its stand alone and doesn't use Windows, make sure you get the right version of memtest.
Secondly try a linux cd/pendrive and see if it stays stable.

Edit: A couple of passes of memtest on both sticks singly found no errors and currently hasn't found any on the pair together. Will run memtest for an extensive period on all at some point soon.

Looking back at this, I think you've got to the current state:
PSU + Mboard = should be okay
RAM = should be okay (assuming your extended mem test works okay)
If so, then that leaves: HDD /SSD (and therefore OS) as possible causes.
Did you manage to get the detail of the BSOD?
Have you got a live cd you could try with the new mother board and an alternative hdd?
Do the HDD +SSD behave in another PC?
Ram is often a cause of this sort of thing, if you've got more than 1 stick take it down to 1 and then swap etc. I'd be surprised if it was temps but you can get plenty of programs that show temps (CPU-Z)
Does the Blue screen give an error or leave a minidump file?
This is now fixed. I think the bsod on the new mobo was an unrelated error as the machine is now fully stable and has survived various burn-ins etc, as such I'm putting it down to motherboard failure, thanks all for the help.
Next issue is both hard drives having SMART warnings, but I'll likely make a thread for that itself.
Glad its all sorted.
