Unhappy My TS server is up but people cant connect??

Can anyone with the right skills help me troubleshoot a problem with my teamspeak server? Been through several toturials and read a bunch of stuff, im doing everything point to point what they say, but still my members cannot join my server. Im going nuts.
    Heres what ive done:
The server is up and running.
Ive added ts3 server + ts3 client to my incoming connection in my firewall.
Ive added the 3 ports in my router and the modem ive also checked isnt blocking anything.
Im using my IP and portnumber as serveraddress and my IP hasnt changed.
The router im using is Asus.
When im using "canyouseeme" to check the ports it says "Error: I could not see your service on 92.221.66.206 on port (9987)
    Reason: Connection refused"
Ive called my internetprovider and nothing should be blocked from their side.
Uhm yea i think thats it.
Thank you so much everyone that can help!

have you forwarded port 9987 to the TS server on the router? and teamspeak is listening on 9987?

I'm assuming that 92.221.66.206 is your ip address and 9987 is the relevant port? Can you connect on your local network to the server?

This is the first test, tbh. Find the local IP address of the server and test connecting to TS from a different machine. If you can connect within your own network then the problem is with the router configuration; if you can't connect from another machine on your network then get that working before you even think about trying to get people connecting from outside your network!

Re: My TS server is up but people cant connect??

As Jim says, if you can't connect from another machine on your local network (ie using the local ip address of your TS server, not the WAN address that you get from whatsmyip) then there's at the very least an issue with the TS server config.

Can you do telnet TSServerIPAddress 9987 from a command prompt (dependent on your OS you may need to install the Telnet client first)?

When you say "the server port number i got on email" what exactly do you mean? This makes it sound almost as if you're hiring a hosted TS server, rather than hosting it yourself.

If you *are* hosting it yourself what OS is it running on?

Re: My TS server is up but people cant connect??

If your server is on your own internal network you can find it's local IP address by typing ipconfig at a command prompt. This is the IP you need to try and connect to from antother local machine. Once you can do that ok, then you can start to check the port forwarding on your router is also pointing to that IP.

if you "bought" or are actually hiring the service thru gameservers the TS server is on one of their machines, not you own?

why are you trying to host your own teamspeak when you say you bought it from gameservers?

for a start the client AND server are free so gameservers will provide you with a hosted solution and you connect to the details in the welcome email they sent.

Re: My TS server is up but people cant connect??

First of all, you need to check out that you have the correct version of Teamspeak or not? If yes, then try deleting it and then re-installing it. I did the same and when I reconnected, it worked.
