    getting rid of login screen

really stupid question but recently windows started asking me to log on to my pc. It never used to do this and I don't need it as I am the only user of my pc. I have forgotten how you sort this out.

any help would be much appreciated.

btw, happy new year to everyone.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

Have you installed Microsoft's .NET Framework recently? That adds in an extra (hidden at login) user account, which means that you get the login prompt on every boot.

I've found that you can safely delete this account without any problems (For my usage anyway), and then the logon issue goes away. I don't remember the exact account name off-hand, but it's something like ASP.NET something something.
