    Display on Monitor

Recently when I switch on my computer there is nothing on the monitor. I have tried the monitor on a different computer and it works fine. If I remove the power cable then plug it back in the display works. I have updated graphics card (GeForce 8600 GT) drivers but issue persists. I am thinking it may be graphics card. Any help in trouble shooting this issue would be appreciated

    Re: Display on Monitor

If it's the power cable removal that works, then it's probably not your graphics card but rather the monitor power supply on its way out. Try a different cable just to rule out a cheap solution.

Note, if you monitor is displaying 'no signal' or something then it might not be the monitor, but you're saying it's displaying nothing.

I agree with the previous guy
Do you have another monitor that you can connect to your computer, whilst it is most likely the monitor not the graphics card, you don't want to go spend on a new monitor and it turns out to be the graphics card!
