I am having a major problem with my new rig! First off I raided my raptors instaled windows and it ran fine! I then updated the bios... My temps went goofy, my cpu went slugish and the system was very unstable! So I went to reinstal...

Heres where I need your help...

windows XP wont instal to my raid! It detects a partition (2 raptors raided) and another one that is 1 raptor... but I only have 2 raptors! So my raid isnt being reconized by XP properly or what? when I try to instal to that raid windows tells me its damaged... I used the drivers on the floppy for the raid.

All this may be due to the bios update, but I cant find any previous versions! Any ideas on where to get the older bios?

This is a fresh CLEAN INSTAL! SO WHY IS MY CPU MAXING OUT????



I cant deal with this! I need help! Is my cpu screwed? mobo?

What process is using those cycles? And is there hard disk activity whilst seeing this CPU activity?

none! its totaly clean and the CPU useage doesnt show up as a prosses!

Ok, I got bios version 1.3 and am going to flash... I am hoping this fixes my raided raptor instal problem...

Well, no matter what I do I cant get windows to reconize my raided raptors! I used the flopy drivers but when I select them windows setup frezes when it says starting windows! So now I'm stuck on a slow 53 meg a second sata 160 gig pice of junk! Oh how I miss my 120 meg sustaind transfer rates....

you HAVE installed a firewall since you reinstalled haven't you? I'm thinking the 100% cpu usage could be a virus/worm/trojon/whatever....
