My old faithful HP Deskjet 895Cxi has all of a sudden stopped printing yellow.

At first i thought the ink cart was dry, so I replaced it with a new one, with the same result. I've tried taking the cart out & re-seating it & everything looks clean. The other colours print fine...just no yellow

Any ideas peeps?

Some printers have the heads on the carriage, though i'm uncertain about this particular model.

Head is in the cart, which I replaced for a brand new one. Same result. No 'kin yellow
Bit of a bind for coulour coded CAD drawings.

Does the printer have any utilities you can run to try and fix the problem? (for example some can try and unclog any jets)

Yeah, tried all the facilities for cleaning heads, aligning etc

dirty connections on the cartridge caddy?

carefully cleaned with alcahol & cotton bud. I think it's a case of mr printer meeting mr bin

You could just check to make sure that the cable ribbon has not come partly detached from the cartridge runner.

I am only guessing but those cables do get a lot of wear and if a few strands had become discconected it might be causing your problem .

I cant get to it to see & to be honest, I just cba to take it to bits.
