Quick bios question

I'm just trying to set my bios properly but a couple of headings confused me.

What does 'Quick Power On Self Test' and 'Boot Up Floppy Seek' mean?

Also, I've stopped the start up trying to boot from disk drives. Assuming the first boot device is the harddrive, should this be selected as [HDD-0]?

Quick power on self test just gives you the overall system memory on the post screen, if you have it set to off it will count from 0 to the full amount of memory taking longer to boot (On some boards it will do the count 3 times)

Boot up floppy seek makes the system check there is a floppy drive attached to the system and makes sure it is working (once again this is on the post screen) if enabled you will notice the floppy light come on for a few seconds while the check is being done.

Yeah, just set the boot priority to HDD 0 if you dont want it to boot from another device, this stops the system checking to see if there is any bootable media in a cd drive, floppy drive, zip drive etc. This makes it boot staright off the hard disk into Windows. If you ever want to format and setup Windows again you will have to set the boot priority to a cd / dvd drive so it would boot direct from the cd allowing you to format and do the setup.
