I would check the RAM or use alternate slots.

Almost certainly the problem! Now, you should have lead with that statement lol It's probably not in correctly or you zapped it.

Apologies for that crucial omission! I didn't realise that it was a problem to remove and replace a RAM stick.

So the old card is also doing the same?
If that is the case take everything off, start back with just ram (1 stick) and no drives + old card

Thanks for that bit of advice GoNz0, it worked straight away. I got into BIOS and set it up again and it booted to Windows fine. Thanks very much!

I'll try an alternate slot for the second RAM stick.

I'lll also do a BIOS update and try the new card again.

More often than not people don't put enough pressure on the ram when inserting it.

Quite a result, I didn't think that card would run in an old chipset like that
