New system Doesn't Power On

ok guys,

just got my new system, it looks to me like I've installed everything spot on

the basics are an Asus AV8 Deluxe V2 with an AMD FX55

all looks ok and I plug the power cord in I get a green light, which according to the manual suggests

The motherboard comes with a standby power LED. When lit this Green LED indicates the system is on, or in soft mode.

the only think I can think of is that the power switch is miss wired on so that when I click "on" it doesn't actually turn on.

Does it turn just for a second, or not at all?

Is the clear cmos set to clear on the motherboard, if it is that will stop a power on

mike_w was closest, it seems that despite the 12v addition connections unusual shapes the slot on the motherboard is big enough to allow it to fit in in 3 configurations, only one is correct
