Thermal sensors

Thought I had posted this yesterday but must have hit wrong key. So to repeat:

Whereabouts does one actually place the thermal sensors that come with a fan control unit, they are very thin types. Have one for CPU, Case, Power Supply and HDD. Instructions state to place then so they monitor said points but not exact placements. Do I for instance place one under the CPU heatsink between it and the actual CPU, or will stuck to the heatsink be sufficient? Thanks

Do not put the sensor between the heatsink and CPU - it needs to be a complete contact between the two, and putting a sensor there would destroy that! I think you need to put the sensor for the CPU underneath the chip, between the CPU and the motherboard.
