Well, time to get the dust buster out then. I really did need a good reason (Even though i knew it WOULD make a difference) to actually do it. Shame its such a pain in the arse to do...

A number of peolpe on the Hexus forums, quite recently, have solved their PC problems (usually not boot/crash issues) with a simple clean.

i tried cleaning a mobo and gfx card with a vac once.
they never turned on again

I clean mine about once every 2-3 months. Especially the heatsink. Gets clogged up really thick. Load temps when really dusty hit 59/60 whereas when clean they go to 52 max.

Blimey, thats an incredible increase in temperature just because of dust. Very interesting, and an incentive for me to buy a canister of pressurized air.

(Btw, NovaTech sell a 12oz canister for a very reasonable price )

Did mine this afternoon...thought it was 'dirty' but not 'minging' but noticed a 10+ degrees drop in temps after i had done it all (hsf was clogged up). Well worth it...

geesh, thats a big difference, the fans in my case get really clogged up, so i dread to think wat the hsf must look like.

a quick clean this weekend i think.......

The inside of my case has a thick layer of dust.. should really give it a good spray with liquid butane.. yep.. thatll do it
