A8VE-E Delux Mobo problems

Hi

I hope someone can help me as I'm at a complete loss with this one.

I have just put together a new pc and all seemed to be going ok, that is until I switched it on, once I did this all it did was beep at me. The beeps that I am experiencing don't appear to be normal Phoenix bios error beeps as nowhere I have looked lists this particular error. The beeps are as follows one long beep, then a long pause, one one long beep and then a long pause....This just keeps on going and going.

The specs are as follows

Asus A8VE-E Delux Mobo
Abit Radeon RX600 256mb PCI Express
AMD 64 3000+
Purepower Butterfly 480watt power supply
Corsair Value 512 3200 memory

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Check your RAM is seated correctly and fully pressed into the slots

I have this motherboard. Plug your speakers into the back panel audio line out. It will speak to you and tell you what the problem is. Also, have you plugged the P4 12V (4-pin) connector onto the motherboard?

[Edit]: Have you got one stick of RAM or two?

The 4 pin power plug is plugged in.

I have got one stick of ram, do I need two?

If it's one stick, plug it into socket B1 on the motherboard. You cannot use one stick in the A1 or A2 slots.

[Edit]: I am assuming you mean the Asus A8V-E Deluxe motherboard?

Although not esential you should get yourself another stick so you can run dual channel as otherwise you won't get the benefit...Looking at the bios beep codes one log beep then silence then beep is the memory

Here is an extract from the memory stick FAQ:

Q. System can not boot up with one memory module in DIMM_A1 or DIMM_A2.

A. Due to hardware limitation, one memory module should be plugged in DIMM_B1 or DIMM_B2.
