    Epox boot error codes :(

Anyone know what they mean ?

Got a epox 8RGA+, n force 2 jobby, the code that comes up is 26

Now, I consulted the user manual, and it says 'reserved', what does this mean ? I havnt got a clue and I dont know why its not working, it would be handy if the codes actually pointed to a useful error number, e.g 25 where it says its a video error

Anyone got a clue ? Thanks

After a bit of googling it seems to suggest that carrying out a cmos clear may resolve this, have you given this a try?

just have reset the cmos, but now it doesnt even get as far as it did before, comes up CF - which i googled and it means check CMOS R/RW, well i remembered to put the cmos jumper back so its not reset, and ive resetted it a few times, to no avail just keeps getting stuck on CF, even tho its set up as it was before, just has had the cmos reset?

These are the code suggestions I've found:
    FF or CF
    BIOS chip reversed.
    Updated with wrong BIOS.
    Motherboard problem.
    Add-in card inserted wrong.
    CPU problem.
Make sure BIOS chip is installed correctly.
    Check all installed add-in cards.
    Swap motherboard and/or processor.

Be nice of they were a bit more specific wouldn't it

You got a friends machine or another of your own you can pop it in to test it works? I was also reading that those MB's have got these little capacitors near the ram slots quite near to where the grap card goes in that can get damaged real easily, says to check make sure is no damage but seems unlikely

I've got another PC yes, I can test the CPU, but not the motherboard - which is my problem, i cant get my pc working and im not sure if ive set something up wrong, OR the motherboard is dead, so I dont know how I can test it, which is annoying, cos Ill need to shell out for another motherboard to see if it has a problem, either im goin to waste 50 quid, or find out I got a problem elsewhere

Annoying I know, however at least you can prove the cpu is not faulty by swapping it out to the other PC and making sure it posts, if thats the case you know the MB maybe scrweed..However then you have the problem is it seriously screwed or maybe just the bios is messed up, in which case you could order another chip for about £12 with the right bios pre-programmed
