Am using one of those right now..If you take the case off and power on does the fan or anything start..We've had about 700 of these delivered int he past few months and there is a fault with the PSU/MB's on some..If you don't get anything spining up then it looks to be a PSU issue

edit: How u finding these machines? We have just gone for the SFF version of them over these beasts but they are exactly the same build.

edit2: Just leaving bios battery out atm as ive run out of ideas

Personally I've found them to be ok, not brilliant for a 512/2.8..and they don;t seem to really like our network, we run 10/half and have done for ages, the old P3/733 machines were fine but these ones seem not to like it, have times when then all slow down and outlook takes up to 30 secs to sync with the ex2000 server at times depending on which office around the country your in...even in the central london offices where the ex server is in the same building via 100meg switch to 10meg hubs..

As for that PC, is it under the HP warrenty? if it's not even beeping maybe suggests the MB/Bios is screwed, as I say we've had Hp engineers out to swap dodgy MB's already and that's after the first few weeks..I just use the Hp website and log the call against the machine serial and they get back to you in about an hour

Yer we are contacting Compaq now however (as you may well know) its a bitch to get them to actualy do something!!!

We are using the 512/3.2 ones and we dont seem to have any problems network wise but we are still testing them before moving over (just finished doing the ghost build) - most of the other machines in the london site are d530's so we are used to the compaq way of things (trying to replace elonex p3 733/866 machines)

Cheers for the help, shame never got it working without calling out hp
