    CDRW/DVD RW woes

my friends laptop's cd drive has decided to obliterate its drives, and i cant for the life of me find them anywhere, cant get them off the cd acer provide, because the cd drives not working. Its a Acer Aspire 1360 and the drives a matsh!ta (owned by panosonic, who oh-so-helpfully dont provide support for it) UJDA760. Theres nothing on acers website where i can find the drivers, using the update thing through windows doesnt work, and google turns up nout. Can anyone help?

You shouldn't need drivers as windows will detect it automatically, same as it would a hard drive. When you plug it in do you not get the drive map under my computer?

Can you tell us what language you are using?

That way we can try putting your post through BabelFish first.

Firstly I'd recomend that you go into device manager, click the device, right click and then click uninstall, it;ll prompt you to reboot after, say yes and then when windows reboots see if it happens again

Check in the bios to make sure the drives are enabled first off, after that go with what Olly has said. Windows 95 and 98 I found were terrible for doing the exact same thing, I used to have to load the drives through DOS autoexec file on Windows boot when that happened or to just format and start again.
