Dos bases GFX card testing

IS there any software out there that is dos based (boot cd? ) that can test to make sure a vid card is working right ?

just that m8 was having probs with a vid card of his but it seems fine in my rig and i just need to test it to make sure.

Best way to test things is literally what you have done, put it in another setup.

What you could try is knocking the AGP speed down to 4x in the bios, aperture size 64 Mb (get better performance with 64 Mb Aperture size I've found personally) and turn off the fastwrites. Also try setting the ram to auto detection.

Also make sure he has the latest chipset drivers installed and see how you get on.

If that doesnt work can you try and give a bit more info on what is happening ?

erm it wud refuse to boot when plug into his machine.

Got bsod at random, now gone away since replaceing with a 9800pro....

just need to know if theres utills out that can stress test the card ouside of windows.

if it proves to be fine then he wants to sell it on.

I doubt it as the drivers for the graphics card all require windows to drive the cards and without them you can't stress a card
