What has my relatively new GPU leaked everywhere?
It was a 1660ti, just a couple of months old, when I pulled it out it was literally dripping and hands covered in pretty much translucent liquid, only slightly more viscous than water I'd say.
It sits above PSU in my case so pretty sure it's leaked into there as well. GPU fan splashed it all around the case.
Fortunately I had a spare PSU. Switched to integrated graphics, cleaned it up best I could, but the i think the mobo (at best) is ruined, won't boot up reliably, maybe 1/20 times, and will just switch off after a while.

Have you got a water cooled CPU? cause it sounds like the stuff that leaks out of the pumps?
I would take photos of everything you might be able to claim from the retailer for the damage it has caused.
Looking at the photos it looks like grease, is it greasy? maybe its come from the bearing in the middle of the fan?

Looks like silicon grease. Probably from the fan. Still an RMA imo

It looks like it came from the GPU. Fan or heatpipe. I'm pretty sure silicon grease is non conductive. If it is from the heat pipe I imagine its some more volatile and could be conductive.

Thank you all kindly for your suggestions.
Manufacturer told me there's less than 1cc of fan oil, to my eyes there's more than that (please chime in if you disagree), and it's almost entirely evaporated from the GPU now in 3-4 days - not a quality oil has in my experience.
There's no water-cooling of any kind in my computer.
I asked for permission to dismantle the heatsink to find the cause of the problem, without causing that to invalidate the warranty. No luck so far.
I've got no idea what the fluid contents of a heat pipe may be, let alone its conductive properties - any thoughts? Any sources on consumer-grade heat-pipe manufacturing?
I've been in touch with supplier as well. They weren't willing to help at all to start with, but with some urging on my part they seem slightly more willing. Hopefully its not just talk.
The manufacturer offered an 'alternative suggestion' for the cause which I'm minded to post due to the sheer inanity of it, but I'll keep that to myself for now!

I think when it's a liquid in a heat pipe its generally distilled water, maybe ammonia but I think that's generally for significantly larger applications.

The whole bottom left of the motherboard failed the other day. Was only a couple of years old.
Scan showed no interest in replacing the GPU despite being less than a year old. They seemed to take issue with the fact that it damaged the motherboard (that I also bought from them).

you need to contact the manufacture of the GPU, not scan same for the motherboard.
i would probs not mention about mobo failing to GPU company and GPU failing to the mobo company as they could turn around and point blame just to avoid fixing it. just say XYZ is not working, let them decide if the fault was due to something else first.

Thanks for the advice. I'm no expert, but my understanding is that in the UK, consumer protections are between the consumer and retailer, not the manufacturer.

First year of warranty is down to the retailer, though you can try contacting the manufacturer as well. If your items have more than 1 year warranty then those subsequent years are typically dealt with directly by the manufacturer. (Unless specified that the retailer offering the extended warranty, like John Lewis do on certain electronics and appliances)
Being Palit, however, you are stuck between a rock and a hard place, they only support RMA's through your original vendor.

I agree with Disputes, do not mention that it's caused damage elsewhere it gives them an excuse to back out.
Also it's 50/50 whether you should clean it up or not
