    New account.

    Hi,

I have recently created account but seems like my posts are not showing up, also I cant view or edit my profile or PM moderators.

For example when I try to view my profile it says:

Zuh, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
    Please advise.

    Thanks

read forum rules about privileges and post count. https://forums.hexus.net/general-dis...r-rewards.html It's hidden away in General Discussion for reasons that I've never understood. When I joined there used to be a new-user sticky with links to it but that seems to have gone now.

Wow, this is bizarre. I need 15 posts to be able to change my email or password?

It might seem bizarre, but there's a reason. We weed out spammers. Historically, some started signing up with 'inoffensive' emails, designed to not get caught, etc, and immediately changing details to spam. That 15 posts is nothing to someone seriously interested in the forum, but enough of a deterrent to spammers and, it gives mods noses a chance to twitch at likely spammers.

Nothing is perfect. Some get through regardless and, sure, it's a minor nuisance for new members but, it doesn't take long to get to 15 for a normal member. It's a balance, in other words.

That actually make sense. Thanks for explaining
