No Display Signal on installing AMD Adrenaline 2020 software

    System specs:

Ryzen 1600 AF + Wraith Stealth cooler (65C under Prime95 load)
    Gigabyte GA AX370 Gaming K5
    2x8Gb DDR4 3200 Corsair LPX C16 (running at 2133 BIOS defaults)
Asseno 512Gb NVME SSD (tested and appears fine, but if you have any software recommendations for testing NVME let me know)
    Corsair CX500M
    AMD R9 Fury Nano

The system was initially blue screening as various points of the windows install. I believe this was something to do with the drive set to MBR, it's now been converted to GPT and switched to UFEI / Windows Boot Manager in the BIOS and this seems to have sorted the initial blue screening problem. I then started installing drivers - chipset first, windows updates, GPU drivers etc

Windows update has installed a version of the GPU driver, and I can stress test without issue - 70C on the GPU and 65C on the CPU max. Using Prime95 + MSI Kombuster to max both GPU and CPU simultaneuously. Ran for 30 minutes without issue.

However when I go to install the Adrenaline 2020 software, the download unpacks and at the moment it initialises the GUI the monitor loses display output and it never comes back on. I've tried unpluging and replugging the HDMI cbale to see if that brings it back without success. The PC appears to be running still as shutdown seems work correctly - press the power button and the PC turns off after ~ 5 seconds.

It appears to be specific to installing the software, but maybe other installers could have the same effect (I'd need to use it more to test the theory). However otherwise the PC appears to be working fine.

I've not run a memory test yet, will do that tonight.

Windows is fully updated to 2004 build

    Any thoughts appreciated.

Re: No Display Signal on installing AMD Adrenaline 2020 software

Solved the issue should anyone else encounter it - for some reason this setup caused the card to stop displaying through HDMI. The issue was repeated in a seperate PC as well, so it's a conflict between the GPU and the Adrenaline software specifically. Switched to a Displayport cable and the issue didn't occur.

    Hope this hopes someone!

You trouble shoot problems by google searching, maybe in 2 years someone in from Canada experiences the same issue, google's the issue and comes across this thread - then my work will be complete

Especially good for them compared to the usual "never mind, fixed it" without an explanation that you can tend to find with a lot of things.

That's all very well, but sometimes things do get fixed without any explanation!

True, but usually when it's said like that it can be read as an implication that they know what the fix was.
