Corsair Force MP510 not showing as a drive during windows 10 install

    Hi all,

I recently built the following machine:

Gigabyte x470 Aorus Gaming Motherboard (Bios Version F6)
    Ryzen 5 2600
    16GB Ram
    Corsair Force MP510 SSD

The machine posts and I can access the bios and see my drive.

However when I try to install windows 10 off my usb installer, the SSD isnt listed and im asked to load a driver.

When using disk list in the command prompt I also see the SSD.

All I want to do is get windows on this machine and start gaming

is your usb image customised and missing a driver or is it the default MS one?

It might be a UEFI vs compatibility mode thing: https://forums.tomshardware.com/thre...#post-19208033

Not that I have seen such shenanigan, but sounds plausable..

Thanks, thtas helpful but the issue I have with the gigabyte board is not being to disable CSM and enable secure boot.

Everytime I disable CSM and reboot it switches back to enabled.

And if I try to enable secure boot I get a message about disabling CSM in the setup.

As mentioned earlier looks like you need to put the driver on a USB stick and point to it.

For just plain NVMe? That's becoming the dominant standard, it should just work.

Have you tried doing a BIOS reset to factory defaults? It looks like there might be some oddness going on with the key management, but just wiping everything back to zero might help.

I've tried everything. Even update the bios to version F31. Not the newest but I was on F6

Re: Corsair Force MP510 not showing as a drive during windows 10 install

When booting the USB stick, are you using the boot option for the USB stick or the UEFI option for the USB stick?

NVMe should be included in all versions of Windows 10.

You could always try installing Linux

Having done some more research it might be that i am missing drivers but ive been to both gigabytes site and amd's but the drivers are .exe files and i cant open them during the windows install.

One guy said try all of intels drivers, whilst i saw them load that also didnt help.

If they are self-extracting EXEs or installers, something like 7zip can open and uncompress most of those.

Is the SSD installed in the top M.2 slot?

Re: Corsair Force MP510 not showing as a drive during windows 10 install

So I managed to solve my issue.

For anyone wanting to create a boot disk off a Mac, you can’t. I was able to get a friend to download the win 10 iso via the creation tool and make a boot stick via rufus.

    Worked instantly!

The one created on the Mac must have been naff.
