A really stupid problem with Android 12...

I have a Google Pixel 3A mobile, which is using Android 12. I've got a really stupid problem with the phone, which is incredibly irritating.

The problem involves simply answering an incoming call! When I receive a call, I get the little rectangular 'incoming call' box appear at the top of the screen, with the option to decline the call, screen the call or answer the call. The problem is, I'm physically disabled & my manual dexterity is not great; if I don't hit the green 'answer' button just right, the 'incoming call' notification disappears, but the phone continues to ring. At that point, I have no idea how to answer the call! I know it's probably a REALLY simple thing to resolve, but can anyone point me in the right direction as to what to do to answer the damn phone?!

    Cheers!

I dont know myself as no longer have a pixel, here someone goes through the accessibility options, not sure if you will find anything handy, around the 7/8 minute mark looked quite promising

Switch access might be an option to assign a button to answer the phone

As for the incoming call notification disappearing when that happens have you tried pushing the power button to turn the screen off/back on?

Ah no, the screen doesn't go blank when I 'miss' the green answer call button - the rectangular 'incoming call' dialogue box just disappears from the top of the screen, but the phone keeps ringing. I'm sure there's something really simple that I need to do to answer, but so far I've not been able to work it out!

What does tapping on the phone app do when the phone is ringing?

If you've got google assistant on I believe you can also 'hey google, answer the call'. Probably also works with whatever brings up the assistant.
