HELP!! PC Starts up when my phone rings! Is it a VIRUS?
Hi I hope someone can please help me with this as i am Baffled to why its happening!
My parents have a 1 month old MESH pc and as they are Noobs i put on their progs, such as; AVG,Kerio FW (free),Spybot,Adaware,Spyblaster,a2 sqrd and cwshredder so i would of thought its pretty secure! Anyway they subscribed to Aol 2mb Broadband and after 2 weeks the Modem was delivered and line was supposedly turned on (i say supposedly as you'll soon learn) ...So i go around and try to instal it all, but have problems doing so! So i ring AOL and they say; Quote "They are really sorry as they made a mistake and enabled the wrong line, but would have it all sorted out by Monday 18th April "! Now that was 3 days ago but yesterday my mum rang me and said "Everytime their phone rings the PC starts up by itself! So i go around there again and check there is no Viruses, malaware etc and i disable the local network adapters (which they do not use)and make sure Power settings were all on 'Shut down. I then go into the bios to make sure PC is only started by HDD and is not on 'Wake by Lan'! Oh yeh i also disabled the Remote Desktop! So i again try it,but same thing happens! So can it be a virus or is it a AOL/BT error?
PS Could it be something i have missed as they have one of those new PCI-E Mobo's ?
Many thanks in advance!
