Hi

Recently I have been unable to play Far Cry. If I load a \save_game checkpoint (saved from the console) the game will hang and reboot the machine. This happens with all patches of the game (from 1.0 -> 1.31) and with all vid drivers (71.84 -> 76.50). I've re-installed the game, removed all profiles, setup with low graphics/audio settings but to no avail.

I have two 6600GTs running SLI (with a gentle overclock of 549/1100 - stable) on an Asus A8N SLI deluxe with AMD64 4000+ s939.

Its driving me insane as once upon a time it was working just fine. I have no problems with any other title.

Any suggestions? Or is this the end of my far cry days!

I got this with UT2004. Its an issue with Sp2 aparently. Check for widows updates. And do microsft error reports.

Windows updates are probably the only new installs on the machine. I'm up to date currently - submitted error reports a-plenty over this issue!
