Just bought a router but cant connect....

I'm with blueyonder, and I just bought a netgear router. It seemed to work fine at first, connected staright away and worked for a few hours. Then suddently the connection died, and now I cant connect again.

Is it something to do with the 'mac' address? The blueyondersite says that the mac address should update automatically etc.

When trying to connect it say acquiring IP address, then it basically fails and says limited or no connectivity.

    Any help greatly appreciated,
    Thanks

It seems that the DHCP of the router is not working properly.
Try to manually set the IP of your machine.

Is that a cable or ADSL router? Which model router? Does it say its connected to the internet on the router?

On Blueyonder, you have to reset the cable modem (ie pull out the power and restart after about 20 seconds) if you use a new mac address.
Putting a router in will work without that if you clone the previous cards mac but without doing that it will lose access as it checks the mac and updates itself.
Any other problems give em a ring or use the instant support tool if you`re a newb with not much metworking experience.
