Needing a single port KVM console, where to find?

I am about to colocate a server far far away and I'd like a KVM over IP / remote console to access the remote machine. I only see large 16+ ports KVM over IP switches out there but I only need it for one (or 2 possibly in the future) computer so 16 ports will be overkill.

Is there any smaller KVM over IP switch for 1~2 computers that is relatively cheap? Thanks.

Why not just use a software solution based on VNC or RDP? That'll cost yer absolutely nowt but a little time

Because KVM over IP let's you do things like change BIOS settings and run OS reinstalls.

I've not seen any - your best bet would be to use something like a RIB board in the compaq machines , but then you'll need a secondary network feed.

Most of the servers we`ve used have ip over serial or modem built in to the bios and come with a management prog.
Not seen a single solution ever but plenty of multi port commercial KVMs have it and you pay the price.
Best look second hand or see if the router at that end has a serial connect for the older type of comms which you can use ( if it IS a server) to connect.
That Belkin thing is just an extender to run the KVM over ethernet and get a longer run.
Surely the server has built in IP access or an accessory from whoever makes it.

There old (read VERY old) and might not be up to much these days but have a look at a belkin blackbox servswitch wizard. Royal Bank of Scot used to use them and I THINK they had KVM over IP.
