No BIOS screen - FIXED
Hi
I am having a very bad time at the moment. When I boot the machine it will post but I dont see the BIOS screen anymore. If I leave the machine it will eventually get to the winXP login screen and everything works as usual. Except I have no access to my BIOS.
Its an asus a8n sli deluxe by the way.
I altered the bios today to disable the onboard realtek chip - I installed the new audigy 2 zs but was unable to get it to work (said unable to allocate enough resource). I took the card out and everything was fine until a couple of hours ago.
Anyone got any ideas. I dont think its the vga cards (2 x 6600GT in SLI) as I can see the XP login screen but nothing prior to that.
EDIT
Reset the bios and everything is ok now. It would seem that the audigy card somehow upset the bios in some way. Gut instinct tells me that the card is faulty....

Which connector/card is your monitor plugged into?

Currently its plugged into the first - the primary PCIe slot. I've tried both cards and neither of them produce anything different. Curses and plague upon that audigy card!

what happens when you remove the card? have you tried clearing the cmos? or even re-flashing the bios?

Yeah, I went down the boozer and had a think(!) Came back, reset the cmos and all is well again. I think the dodgy audigy card must have had something to do with it.
