    What people mean by phrases like that are they want to adjust the timings at which the memory runs at.

    Basically theres a wide range of memory out there and they all have different operating speeds. For example - some generic memory would probably run with speeds akin to 3-3-3-6 or higher, but good quality memory with lower timings would run at say 2-2-2-5.

    What this means can be easily shown on the following PDF file ;

    http://www.corsairmemory.com/corsair...erformance.pdf

    If you check the following link the first image shows where in the BIOS to change the settings to get better speeds and lower latencies on the DFI motherboard ;

    http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.c...id=1527&page=5

    The image shows 11 as the T(RAS) setting as many people have seen that 11-2-2-2 as opposed to 5-2-2-2 gives better results in benchmarks etc.

    Hope this helps

    Pipelines are the data pipes that the graphical data flows down. The more pipes, the more data can be processed basically

    As for "enabling" new pipes - there are certain drivers that are usually "softmodded (Software modded as opposed to hardware modding) that can in most cases enable the missing pipelines between varients of chips, but this can also cause issues with visual artifacts appearing if the GPU is not up to having them all opened.
