    TweakUI problem

I put tweakui on my pc yesterday, I belive its the old version that works on win9x (and im using 2k).

Seems to be working fine, except its managed to hide control panel. I was 4AM when I put it on, but I cant think of any options I left enabled that would do this.

It brings up a message box "This operation has been cancled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact system administrator" if I ty to open any control panel apps like display propertys. I cant open control panel itsef becuase its hidden it

Any easy way to take it off/reverse it?

Tryed reinstalling over the top, didnt help. couldnt find any settings file for it/int the registry and disableing it from startup doesnt help either.

I did that, but the easiest thing to do for me was just restore a backup from a couple of hours earlier, but I doubt thats an option...

Yeah I dont have a backup. If I delete the files it added, it keeps restroing them on the next boot, I know theres a way to disable that, but I cant remember

Okay, if you are comfortable with using 'regedit' then take a look at the following two keys:

    1. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\
    Explorer

    2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\
    Explorer

Look for the 'NoControlPanel' value name (it will be DWORD value). If it is set to '1' then you cannot access Control Panel. If it is set to '0' then you can access Control Panel.

The setting may appear under either of the Registry keys specified in (1) for the current logged on user or (2) system wide setting.

Play with this at your own risk!

    Hope that helps you out!
