Smoothwall HELP!
I have aquired an old Toshiba Satellite 100cs which i am intending to use as a smoothwall box. In addition to this i have a 3com 3C589D PCMCIA network card for it, alas tho no Cdrom drive (intending to install from network)
Whilst installing the smoothwall bootdisks it comes to the part detecting your nic and fails, after a bit of looking around the net i realise this is due to the PCMCIA drivers not being installed rather than the lack of support for 3com cards. Anyone have any ideas how to install smoothwall from floppies with PCMCIA support?
Cheers
Andy
P.S What i know about linux you can write on a postage stamp

from the smoothwall FAQ. ( jpg as I can't copy and paste from a pdf :) )
unless you want to comple pcmcia drivers into the smoothwall install as detailed in the link then you might be better of using a different box.
I used an old compaq deskpro SFF box as my smoothwall
